Do you ever get frustrated with being misunderstood? I have believed myself to be misunderstood the majority of the time. I get it communication is hard, language is hard. It’s not always easy to understand each other.

I, however, get frustrated when I don’t understand myself. Have you ever felt like that before? Have you ever felt like you had no idea what you want or need? It can be hard to understand others when you can’t understand yourself. In that light I spent a lot of my high school years trying to understand myself only to grow more annoyed when I saw myself constantly changing my identity and character. I slowly came to realize that searching for ones self without any idea of what a self should look like leads to endless possibilities. So I started searching for Gods character instead. Who is God? What is he like? What does he have to say? Turns out the Lord has so much to say. I have learned more about myself because I have learned more of who I want to be.

Now if that made sense to you congratulations, you can read my brain.

One response to “Why am I Misunderstood?”

  1. Good to see you writing, Faith, since you have so many ideas to write about.

I like the questions, “Who is God? What is he like? What does he have to say?” Let me suggest more of a long form blog – 600 words or so with multiple sources. What does the Bible say? What do people you admire say? What has been your experience?
